About Rosas de María
A community program where dance connects young people and families to culture through practice and performance.
Seeds of Tradition
Ballet Folklórico Rosas de María exists to teach, preserve, enrich, share, promote, and celebrate Mexican culture through the performing arts of dance and music. That language comes directly from the corporation’s organizing purpose.
A California nonprofit public benefit corporation
The organization was incorporated in California on April 21, 2025 for public and charitable purposes. It is not organized for private gain, and its property and income are dedicated to charitable purposes.
What dancers build
Technique and choreography are part of the work. So are discipline, confidence, cultural knowledge, teamwork, responsibility, stage presence, and respect for the traditions represented.
Family and community
Folklórico is sustained by more than the people visible on stage. Families, volunteers, instructors, musicians, costume work, transportation, rehearsals, venues, and community invitations all carry the program.
Language and culture
Both Stone boys are bilingual in English and Spanish at their grade levels, but Rosas de María’s cultural value is not limited to any one family. The program creates a place where language, music, history, movement, and community reinforce one another.
Preservation through practice
Tradition is carried through rehearsal, correction, costume, music, language, and public performance.
Community institution
Board governance, officer responsibility, financial controls, volunteers, families, and public accountability support the artistic work.
Family leadership
The program is carried by people who also carry the costumes, paperwork, schedules, and children.
Rosas de María is rooted in family participation and nonprofit service. Krista serves as Board Secretary and co-founder. Randall serves as Treasurer and co-founder. Their boys participate in the program.

Culture in public
The organization is visible on stage, but built between performances.
Rosas de María treats performance as the public expression of a deeper cultural institution: rehearsal, language, instruction, family participation, nonprofit administration and shared responsibility.
