There is more than one way into the work: dance, teach, play music, sew, drive, carry equipment, host a performance, sponsor a scholarship, or simply be the reliable adult who shows up when promised.
Kids arts · instruction · stage experience
Participation is an arts pathway, not a registration form.
Young dancers enter through instruction and rehearsal, then build toward public performance. Ballet folklórico brings dance technique together with music, regional traditions, cultural history, costume, choreography, discipline, and the confidence to take a stage with a group.
Rosas de María welcomes families seeking youth dance, children’s performing arts, Mexican cultural arts, or community stage opportunities in Chico. Scholarships help keep that path open when family finances would otherwise close it.

Participation becomes performance.
Volunteers
Events, setup, transportation, costumes, communication, hospitality, fundraising, photography, and administrative support.
Musicians and instructors
Teaching, accompaniment, regional knowledge, choreography, workshops, and cultural collaboration.
Community invitations
Schools, festivals, nonprofit events, civic programs, cultural celebrations, and appropriate private engagements.
Sponsors and partners
Costumes, rehearsal space, transportation, scholarships, performance fees, equipment, and venues.
Media and documentation
Photography, video, oral history, captions, press, and archive work under the organization’s permission standards.
Practice and participation
Belonging is built one rehearsal at a time.
Participation means learning choreography, listening to correction, caring for costume, supporting fellow dancers, arriving prepared, and understanding that a group performance depends on each person.

Rosas de María is growing, and so is the work behind every class, costume, performance, scholarship and community partnership. We are seeking additional working board members, committee leaders and volunteers who want to preserve Mexican culture and build an organization capable of serving families for generations.
2026–27 program
Registration instructions travel directly to families.
Current families receive registration information by email. New families may contact Rosas de María to ask about the program. Grade-level class times, dancer assignments and operational schedules are not published on the public site.
