Tradition is carried by people who practice it.
Rosas de María brings dancers, families, music, language, costume, teaching, and community together through folklórico. The organization exists so young people can learn the work, perform it proudly, and carry it forward.

The program is carried in several different ways.

Culture in motion.
Folklórico is not preserved by placing it behind glass. It is learned in rehearsal, corrected in detail, worn in costume, heard in music, shared with family, and tested in front of an audience.
The program gives young dancers a place to build skill, confidence, cultural knowledge, discipline, friendship, and stage experience.
Legal purpose
Teaching, preserving, enriching, sharing, promoting, and celebrating Mexican culture.
The corporation’s organizing documents state that purpose directly and place the work within the performing arts of dance and music. That mission now anchors the public site, not merely the filing cabinet.
Public and charitable purpose
The organization is not formed for private gain. Its assets and activities are dedicated to charitable and educational purposes.
Accountable governance
Board oversight, officer duties, standing Finance and Operations committees, financial controls, records retention, and whistleblower protection support the artistic mission.

Participation before titles.
Both Stone boys dance with Rosas de María. They are bilingual and fluent for their grade levels in English and Spanish. Krista and Randall’s board roles support a program their children also learn, rehearse, and perform within.
That family connection is part of the story, but not the whole story. Rosas de María belongs to the wider community of dancers, families, teachers, musicians, volunteers, and supporters who make it possible.

Tradition requires administration too.
Rehearsals and performances depend on people handling governance, finances, communication, costumes, transportation, scheduling, and the quiet work nobody photographs because apparently spreadsheets lack choreography.
